Peter J. Bougie
 
 
Peter J. Bougie is a guild member of the American Society of Classical Realism. He specializes in landscape and figurative works. Peter has shown at many group exhibitions, including a Minnesota landscape show in the Cannon Rotunda of the US House of Representatives, the American Artist’s Professional League at the Salmagundi Club, New York, the West Bank artist's Guild of New Orleans, the Oil Painters of America Premier National Exhibition in Chicago, and “The Legacy Lives” exhibit in Manhattan, among others.
     In August 1990, Bougie’s painting “Four Oaks” was named a winner in a competition sponsored by American Artist magazine and was published in that month’s issue. In 1994, he was featured in an interview format in the periodical “The Classical Realism Journal” (Vol. 1, issue 2) along with three other painters. In 1995 he became an associate editor of the CRJ and he has written numerous articles for that publication. In 1997, Bougie became editor of the Classical Realism Journal. In the year 2000, his biography will be featured in Who’s Who in America.
     Bougie is a 1987 graduate of Atelier Lack in Minneapolis where he studied for four years with the painter Richard F. Lack. Mr. Bougie’s works hang in numerous private and corporate collections.
     Bougie has taught anatomy at Atelier Lack, landscape painting at Atelier LeSeuer, and figure drawing at the Minnesota Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley, Minnesota. He is cofounder and director of The Bougie Studio where he has taught drawing, painting, anatomy, color and composition since 1988.
